About the Role
Peak Downs Mine, located in Central Queensland are currently seeking an experienced Contract Management Specialist to join the Contracts team. This role is a key position within our Compliance Department, focused on governing the safety and compliance aspects of contractor management. This role supports Contract Owners with the practical implementation of the Contractor Management Framework (CMF) for contractors engaged to perform work on site.
As the primary advocate for CMF compliance, the successful candidate will work across multiple departments and serve as a liaison between BMA, contractor companies, and their teams. Your responsibilities will include:
- Governance of the contractor management systems in accordance with the Contractor Management Framework (CMF), CMSHA, and relevant legislation.
- Advise internal stakeholders on sourcing, engagement, and performance management of contract partners.
- Facilitate key meetings, such as pre-mobilisation, safety performance, and closeout.
- Develop and maintain work scopes, risk assessments, and other contractor management documentation in conjunction with stakeholders.
- Monitor contract partners’ compliance with the Peak Downs Mine Safety and Health Management System (SHMS) through field verifications.
- Administration of document control, KPI reviews, contract renewals, and disputes.
- Identify and execute process improvements to drive cost and productivity gains for the mine.
About You
As the successful candidate you will possess the following:
- Proven ability to assess, manage and advise on contract related risks, ensuring safety and compliance across contractor operations.
- Previous experience advising stakeholders on best practices for contractor sourcing, engagement, performance and risk management.
- Proven experience in contractor management within mining or similar industries.
- Tertiary qualification beneficial (contractor management, procurement, business, law) or similar with experience within the mineral resources industry, but not essential.
- S123 and G2 QLD qualifications, with the ability to obtain PDM Supervisor Appointment.
- Experience in auditing and compliance management, with knowledge of Queensland Coal Mining Act and Regulations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams, and OneNote.
